This week I want you to LINK UP and show me what projects you created without spending a dime.
Do you have things that sit around your home that you have no idea what to do with? We do! I know that it can sometimes be hard to get out there and just buy new things to decorate your home. So this week I have been taking notes on things I want changed. I put on my crafter's eyes and looked at things in a different light. Things that I hadn't changed in years now took on a different glow because I am pulling things out of the closet and using them. I am taking other decorative items and switching it out in a different location. I am dressing it up. ALL without spending a dime! Don't you love that? Sometimes we feel like we have to go spend money just to make something look nice. I challenge you this week to look at your home through different eyes this week. What can be changed without spending a dime? What items can you use to make something creative?
Drab...
One of the items I am showing you today is something I didn't have to spend a dime on. My husband had this glass snowman that someone had given him MANY years ago. {I won't say how old or what food item was in it!} We were looking through some of his stuff from his old bedroom at his parents place and found a cute glass snowman. Once we cleaned it out, I wasn't for sure what I really wanted to do with it. Soooo.. it sat on my kitchen counter for a long time. Until, I got the idea to dress it up a little. I decided to crochet a little black hat and add a little ribbon to him.
To Fab...
I added cottonballs to him to make him look more wintery.
But... wouldn't he look nice with some peppermint candy in him for Christmas?
I have another great idea that I am going to show you next week. I didn't spend a dime on it either. I just used what I had.....
I love his little hat! What a cute idea. I'll have to look back through my posts to find what I've made without spending money. It's my favorite kind of craft. ;-)
ReplyDeleteMindy,
ReplyDeleteI love doing that too. I used to do that all the time before I got married and had kids. It's nice to get back into the swing of things again!
Thanks for your comment!
